Extra Security Features
As part of Police & Nurses commitment to your online banking security, we have introduced an extra safeguard against fraud.
'PNCS 2 Factor' works on the principle of two factor authentication, which is simply the notion of having two separate levels (factors) of security. The first factor being something that you know - your password, and the second factor being something that you physically have - your mobile phone.
This makes it extremely difficult for anyone to fraudulently access your account and transfer funds externally, because not only would they need to know your password, but also have in their possession, your mobile phone.
'PNCS 2 Factor' uses your mobile phone to provide you with a secondary 'one-time use' password code via a text (SMS) message. There is no charge for the text message sent. To make it easier for you, Police & Nurses will send you five of the codes in one message, as we realise that often you will want to make more than one payment at a time.
Once you have used three of the password codes, a new text message will be sent to your phone, without you needing to do anything at all. That way, you will always have password codes available to you.
We understand that there are payments you make on a regular basis, so Police & Nurses will only require that you use 'PNCS 2 Factor' on new external payees. This means that if you are transferring funds to any existing payees saved in your Netlink online banking, you will not be required to use a 'PNCS 2 Factor' password code.
If you are transferring funds to a new payee, you simply create an external transfer as normal. Then, an option will appear on the screen requesting for you to enter your 'PNCS 2 Factor' password code, which will confirm your transaction.
